Quantum GIS

A free and open source tool to create, edit, visualise, analyse and publish geospatial data.

Quantum GIS is an open source Geographic Information System (GIS) that allows you to create maps and visualise spatial data.

A GIS allows you to store and analyse geographic data. Whether you want to illustrate the relief of a mountainous area, create an interactive map or show catchment areas, Quantum GIS is the tool you will need.

Download the desktop application – available for Windows, Linux and Mac – to start uploading and visualising your geographic data. Quantum GIS also offers a browser, a server and a web front end to facilitate your data viewing experience.

Quantum GIS also offers spatial analysis, including map algebra, terrain analysis, hydrologic modeling and network analysis.
